Volunteer Opportunities

Hospice of Eastern Connecticut has opportunities for individuals with gifts of time, presence and compassion to give to patients and their families. Our hospice and bereavement volunteers contribute to the efforts of our multidisciplinary team to improve the quality of life for our patients and their families. 

We currently have the following volunteer opportunities available:

  • Hospice Patient Volunteers to provide companionship to patients in their homes or place of residence and provide respite to our patients’ caregivers
  • Clerical Volunteers to assist with bereavement letters, mailing, filing and other office work
  • Bereavement Volunteers to support grieving family members through support groups, letter writing and phone calls
  • Volunteer Quilters to assist with our Hospice Commemorative Quilt
